It’s very exciting!
We have crocuses in the front garden. I spotted the yellow ones last week, though they weren’t open then. They’re in one of the two little troughs under the living room window. This afternoon I went out to the shops and on returning, realised that we also have purple (dark and light) in the ground – mostly in the flowerbed, but it looks as though some have started to spread into the lawn. We’ll have to lift them when we take the grass up.
Anyway, I rushed to fetch my camera so I could share the first colour of the year with you. Crocuses always look so cheerful and optimistic, just when you need it the most – that “Is Spring ever going to get here?” moment. They have probably been encouraged just enough by the sunny and relatively warm weather of the last few days. Let’s hope this is a good sign.
Yes, I know there are weeds everywhere. I’ll be starting on them soon, promise!
