Today has been a busy one, but there won’t be any big pictures of the garden to show you how much it has changed – it’s a work in progress, and I’m going to make you wait a few weeks for the big reveal. It’s looking good, so far, but I want it to look a little better before showing it off.
So this post is all about attempts to photograph the things that are flowering just now. I really, really need a decent macro lens, but some of these aren’t too bad.
The troughs under the living room window are starting to get some colour:
A lovely pink geranium:
And some of the “trailing” lobelia, showing considerable reluctance to trail:
Also at the front, the ceanothus has burst into flower and looks amazing:
Salvia, a bright splash of red amongst the green:
Lots of bumblebees around today, and I spent a lot of time trying to get a picture of one of them flitting around the heuchera. This was the best:
In the back garden, we have a lot of blue, purple and pink. Hydrangea:
And a couple of different lavenders:
So it’s nice to have lots of zingy red and orange marigolds for contrast:
That’s it for this week, hope you are enjoying good weather.
