As I said yesterday, the hellebores are doing fairly well. Sort of. One of them is a bit of a cheat as we bought it just a few weeks back (half price at the garden centre) and almost immediately needed it to house a deceased rat (as mentioned here). It was already in full flower when we bought it so I can’t claim any credit whatsoever. It sits next to the skimmia in a pot which we bought for another rat – the two were cagemates so it seems only fair that they should stay together.
It’s a very pretty one:
This one I can claim credit for as we bought it last year and this is the first time it’s flowered. The bed at the end of the garden must suit hellebores, unlike the one next to the greenhouse, where they just seem to rot. I might have to take a deep breath and move some of them when the weather improves.
