This weekend

The weather hasn’t been great, has it? On the grey and miserable side. The good thing about it is that the light is better for taking photos!

The front garden is more colourful than the back at the moment, but both have their fair share of things about to burst into flower. At the moment we are waiting (im)patiently for these buds to do their thing:

Some are more imminent than others, of course. Meanwhile others have already started flowering, and some have been at it for weeks.

And not forgetting the two ceanothus. In the back garden:

Finally, honourable mention of the week goes to the mahonia which I’m pretty sure we bought for a massively reduced price or as part of a 3 for 2 deal or something like that. It has literally doubled in size in the last month or so:

So I can only assume it’s happy. Most things seem to be happy just now – we have had a combination of warm sun and regular showers, and every time I look something else has put on a foot of growth or started producing buds. I love this time of year.
