We did a bit of weeding this morning and J cut the grass. So the back garden looks like this:
It is really starting to feel like a spring garden at last. A few things are struggling to get going and I suspect slugs – no sign of any hosta shoots yet, and the dicentra looks as though it’s started to emerge then been eaten. So the nematodes are on order. Last year was a really bad one, the hostas suffered terribly, so if all else fails we will lift them and put them in pots. At least then we can put copper bands round the pots to give them some protection.
On Friday I’ve got a day off, so will be taking Mum to the garden centre to get growbags for the tomato plants. The next big thing will be all the annuals currently in trays at Mum’s. They are all coming on really well and will be ready to be planted out very soon – if we can find room for them!
